Not a “Normal” Recession

It appears that very few people realize that we are not recovering from a normal recession. Budget cuts, tax cuts, stimulus spending, etc. are not going to reverse our economic decline. We are suffering from a structural decline in our economy.

Our economy is presently being propped up by $1.3 trillion in annual deficit spending by our federal government. But, even with this massive stimulus spending, we are left with 14 million unemployed workers. And another 9 million workers who work part-time, but would like to have full-time jobs. And no hope in the foreseeable future for a sustained economic recovery.

And this deficit spending cannot continue forever. And things will become much worse when it stops.
