Why do our politicians continue to deny reality? Why build up hope that our economy will create new jobs in “clean energy technology?” It is very difficult, if not impossible, for large-scale factories producing “clean energy” products, such as solar panels, wind turbines, etc. to exist in our country without huge government subsidies and loan guarantees.
And even with government subsidies, clean energy factories have found it difficult to compete with cheap foreign imports made in China with low-wage labor. A solar panel manufacturing factory closed in Massachusetts, with hundreds of American workers losing their jobs, even though it had received tens of millions of dollars in government help since 2008.
The clean energy jobs will go to China for the same reasons that our electronics industry, etc. moved to China, which is low-cost labor.
